Two Cape Cod doctors have asked the courts to decide whether terminally ill patients can dictate their own deaths — a novel legal maneuver that could change the law in Massachusetts and grant new controversial rights to those facing their final days.
The suit was brought by Dr. Roger Kligler, a physician who is battling terminal cancer, and Dr. Alan Steinbach, a physician who wants to provide information and advice to terminally ill patients about ending their lives.
